As addiction treatment has developed into a formal model of care, “recovery” has become synonymous with “sobriety.” Although sobriety will always be a key component of recovery, we at the Renewal Lodge believe that recovery should include much more than physical abstinence from drugs or alcohol. Here, recovery means achieving your potential, finding your purpose and embracing a lifestyle of holistic wellbeing. It means understanding and acknowledging that the substances themselves are not the only issue at hand. Recovery means healing from everything that may be a barrier to leading a long and happy life. When it comes to recovery, we think sobriety is too narrow a goal — so we offer comprehensive recovery care for substance use disorders and co-occurring diagnoses, with a focus on guiding every person toward leading not only a sober life but a healthy and fulfilling one as well.

Our intensive, short-term residential treatment programs are available to adult men and women who are struggling with a variety of substance abuse and mental health concerns. We treat individuals with a primary substance abuse diagnosis and individuals with dual or co-occurring diagnoses of addiction and mental health disorders. The Renewal Lodge by Burning Tree offers a private, focused and welcoming environment where our clients can find recovery from the concerns that are holding them back in life. To find out more about what we do or to start the admissions process for yourself, a loved one or a patient, please contact us at 866-287-2877 or send us a message online.

Substance Use Disorders

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders refers to addiction, chemical dependency and substance abuse by the term “substance use disorder,” or SUD. This terminology emphasizes the fact that drug addiction and alcoholism are characterized by disordered substance use — problematic substance use driven by an uncontrollable psychological compulsion. Treatment for substance use disorders therefore requires an approach that addresses the substance use itself, its physical effects on the body and the mental health component of the disease.

At the Renewal Lodge, we provide this multi-faceted approach, treating individuals struggling with drug and alcohol addiction with traditional, 12-step and abstinence-based methods and with current evidence-based behavioral therapies. With these methods, we can effectively treat a broad range of substance use disorders, including addiction to:

  • Alcohol
  • Opioids
  • Prescription drugs
  • Heroin
  • Cocaine
  • Methamphetamine
  • DXM/Cough Syrup
  • Ecstasy/Molly/MDMA

We provide 30- to 60-day residential programs and will be adding on-site detox services in 2020. Our immersive, intensive programming breaks the cycle of addiction and instills healthier habits and coping mechanisms. We help our clients first find the root of their substance abuse, and then use mindfulness-based techniques to manage the stressors and pressures that have been driving them toward drugs or alcohol. Our goal is long-term recovery with both physical sobriety and a renewed dedication to leading a mentally, physically and spiritually healthy lifestyle.

Co-Occurring Diagnoses

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration estimates that nearly 45 percent of individuals with a substance use disorder also have a co-occurring mental health disorder. While this number may seem high at first glance, it begins to make sense when accounting for the fact that drugs and alcohol interfere with brain chemistry, and the fact that many individuals use drugs or alcohol to cope with emotional distress that may be related to mental illness. It is instantly clear that substance abuse and mental health concerns can be closely intertwined, with each problem stoking the symptoms of the other.

Our mission at the Renewal Lodge is to provide holistic and lasting recovery. To accomplish this goal, we identify and treat co-occurring mental health concerns. Our dual diagnosis treatment is available for all patients who have symptoms of a distinct mental health concern alongside addiction. Some common mental health concerns that we treat include:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Trauma/PTSD
  • Attention Disorders/ADHD
  • Bipolar Disorder

Our experienced providers are trained and licensed to provide addiction and mental health therapies, and we work closely with every client to evaluate their needs and identify whether a dual diagnosis treatment plan is appropriate. We utilize meditation and mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and trauma-informed programming to help our clients develop healthier coping mechanisms and manage their mental health symptoms in a productive and healthy way.

Our Short-Term Residential Program

The Renewal Lodge by Burning Tree welcomes patients from all walks of life and of all experiences with addiction or mental health concerns. We specialize in providing short-term (30- to 60-day) residential treatment for individuals who are seeking intensive, effective treatment. Our short-term programs may be especially beneficial for those who have work or family responsibilities and cannot spend more than a few weeks away from independent life. We also focus particularly on providing effective treatment for those who have not had success in more traditional 12-step programs.

Our approach is unique among high-level addiction recovery centers – we combine the best aspects of accessible, time-tested 12-step treatment and long-term, individualized care to offer an intimate and personalized yet highly structured program. Our high provider-to-client ratio and our model allow us to treat a range of primary and co-occurring concerns in a deeply personal way, in a shorter amount of time. We immerse our program participants in recovery right from the start, working through the 12 steps for structure and concrete goal-setting while engaging in other therapies aimed at changing the negative behavior patterns associated with substance abuse and mental health disorders. With our exceptional resources, our highly trained staff and our proven successful short-term treatment model, we are poised to turn our promise of long-term recovery into a reality for every client.
